Speciality chemicals at the heart of modern laundry detergents

Nonionic and anionic surfactants such as our Lutensol®, Emulan® and Lutensit® types are important ingredients of modern laundry detergents.

• To enhance the detergency of the formulation:
  Polymers as Sokalan® CP and Sokalan® PA are used as phosphate-free builders in laundry detergents to enhance the detergency of the formulation and to protect fabrics from soil redeposition. See our product line 'Dispersing Agents'.
• Manufacturing of compact detergents and detergents in tablet form:
  The polymers in granulated form are used and the Pluriol® E types are used as binders. The Trilon® A types are employed as builders. See our product lines 'Surfactants' and 'Complexing Agents'.
• Stabilize perborate and percarbonate bleach:
  The complexing agents in the Trilon® range can be used. They are added in small amounts (0.5 - 1 %) to prevent catalytic decomposition in the presence of traces of heavy metals. See our product line 'Complexing Agents'. High-performance specialty polymers such as the Sokalan HP types prevent the dye released from coloured laundry from being transferred to other fabrics. Surfactants that guarantee high standards of cleanliness

A variety of detergents and cleaners are use in the household to clean bathrooms, kitchens and hallways, and to keep dishes, cutlery and kitchen equipment spotless and hygienic. Industrial and institutional cleaning products are employed in commercial cleaning, and they are used to clean food-handling equipment and to wash bottles. Formulations of this type are based on specially selected combinations of surfactants with a defined set of performance characteristics in terms of their foam formation and wetting power. Foaming and low foaming surfactants

A wide variety of ionic and non-ionic, foaming and low-foaming surfactants are the characteristic of the Plurafac®, Degressal®, Lutensol®, Korantin®, Lutensit® and Nekal® ranges which can be used in combination with each other as required. See our product line 'Surfactants'.

Enhancement of detergency

The high-performance complexing agents in our Trilon range and the dispersing agents in our Sokalan range enhance the detergency of cleaner formulations and prevent them from leaving behind streaks on surfaces. The waxes and wax emulsions in our Luwax and Poligen ranges can also be employed in cleaner formulations.

Binder for detergents in tablet form

Based on polyethylene glycol the Pluriol® E types are often used as a binder for detergents in tablet form. See our product line 'Surfactants'.
