Pigment preparations and dyes for fertilizers

Colour range of preparations and dyes for fertilizers: Dispers® preparations and Basovit® dyes
Fertilizers are coloured for marketing reasons or for the marking of the different qualities. Usually a water based pigment preparation like Dispers® is diluted and sprayed onto the fertilizer or incorporated into a melt. The quality and high efficiency of our Dispers® products allow low concentrations within the range of 200 - 1000 ppm in order to achieve high colour strength. In addition BTC offers also anionic food dyestuffs like Basovit® dyes as an alternative to aqueous pigment preparations such as Dispers®. BTC offers a wide colour range of preparations and dyes for fertilizers: Dispers® preparations and Basovit® dyes.

Pigment preparations and dyes for seed

Products for seed colouration: Dispers® preparations and dyes like Basonyl® Red 545 liquid, Basonyl® Red 555 liquid and Basovit®
Seeds are coloured for marking and as a warning reference and/or pelletized for better handling. A seed treatment ink, which is an aqueous solution of crop protections including additives are coloured with a water based preparation (Dispers®) or dyestuffs (Basonyl®, Basovit®). Colourants > for the colouration of office requisites

Dyes for ball point pen inks

Ball point pen inks are solutions of dyestuffs and special resins in phenoxyethanol and/or benzyle alcohol or similar solvents. The dyestuffs are usually dissolved with temperature and the pastes are afterwards filtered or centrifuged. The dyestuff concentrations are mostly between 10 - 20 %.
BTC colourants for ball point pen inks are very economic in use due to their high colour strengths and excellent price/performance ratio: Neptun® Bases, Neptun® Black X17 liquid, Neozapon® dyestuffs

Dyes for aqueous writing inks

They are in use for felt tip and fibre tip pens and also for roller ball systems. Dyestuff concentration is typically between 3-5 % and will be dissolved without binders in water glycol mixtures.
BTC offers a wide range of different colours for aqueous writing inks: Basacid® and Basovit® and some Basonyl® dyestuffs. For pigmented inks Dispers® and Pigmosol® preparations are also in use. Basovit® and Basacid® grades which are suitable for writing inks colourations are compliant to regulations pertaining to colourants for food contact applications and toys.

Dyes for solvent based inks

Colourants for solvent based inks: Basonyl® dyestuffs, Neptunl® dyestuffs, Neozapon® dyestuffs

The BTC range of colourants consist of following products, which are easy to handle and offer an excellent price/performance ratio: Dispers® and Pigmosol® preparations

Dyes for colouration of tablets for dishwasher

Nowadays mainly tablets are used in rinsing agents for dishwashers. They are coloured in different layers. For colouring tablets, only dyestuffs are in use, because pigments may stick into cracks of the dishwasher or the plastic dishes.
BTC's dyestuffs are compliant to regulations for food contact applications: Basovit®

Pigment preparations and dyes for  colouration of liquid cleaners

All liquid cleaners for household, dishwashing and textiles are usually coloured with dyestuffs. Colourations of cleaners with low viscosity using pigments can cause settlements. BTC's Pigmosol® pigment preparations can solve this problem.
Neozapon® dyestuffs have an excellent light stability in the respective pH range and a high resistance against aggressive additives. BTC offers also Basacid® and Basovit® dyestuffs. Basovit® is compliant to regulations for food contact applications.

Special effect films > for the packaging industry

Iridescent films or special effect films lend visual excitement to a variety of consumer goods and help their manufacturers differentiate products in an increasingly competitive marketplace.

How Iridescent Films Work
BASF's untinted Aurora® iridescent films express colour and iridescence through light interference - not with pigments or dyes. Uniquely crafted from more than 100 layers of nano-thin polymers, Aurora® iridescent films actually separate white light to create a rainbow of reflections. As your viewing angle shifts, so do the brilliant hues.

Pick A Colour - Any Colour - for Laminating, Glitter and Threads
Aurora® special effect films offer an unlimited colour pallet to work from when used in combination with different background colours and materials. Lamination to a white background for example gives a pure reflection colour at the specular angle. Transmission colours appear at other angles as light passing through the film reflects from the white substrate and passes through the film a second time. Lamination to a coloured background retains the reflection colour but changes the transmission colour.

A range of tinted and untinted Aurora® iridescent films are special effect films produced by BASF in a variety of polymers and thicknesses and with a broad range of thermal, mechanical and chemical properties. The Aurora® decorative and glitter iridescent films may be used alone or with other films, graphics, background colours or embossing to achieve eye-catching effects.

Aurora® iridescent films are available with a standard finish or a satin finish. The satin finish contains a pigment that reduces gloss and creates a silky look with just a touch of opaqueness. Satin colours include satin blue (SB), satin green (SG), satin yellow (SY), satin red (SR) and satin white (S).

Dyes & pigment dispersions > for cosmetics and personal care products
Our Puricolor® dyes and Vibracolor® pigment dispersions are used in bar soaps, liquid soaps, shampoos and body lotions.

Puricolor® dyes

PURICOLOR® dyes are high quality FDA certified and globally approved cosmetic dyes and pigments.
The PURICOLOR® pigment range consists of inorganic minerals like iron oxides and ultramarines. These are highly durable and withstand even high alkalinity. For brighter shades however, the synthetic PURICOLOR® organic dyes are the better choice, but has to be taken to choose dyes with suffi cient alkaline stability. The dyes can be easily dissolved in water prior to addition to the soap base.

Vibracolour® pigment dispersions

VIBRACOLOR® pigment dispersions are ideal for bar soap colouration. The pigments in this range are specifi cally chosen for the needs of bar soap colouration, thus meeting stability criteria, allow for easy handling, and providing strong and bright colorcolours.
VIBRACOLOR® pigment dispersions are aqueous based dispersions. They can be readily diluted in water to prepare stock-solutions to dose to the production line. There is no need to pre-disperse or to use high shear and the resulting colourations are very homogeneous even at low shear. The right particle size is important for best results. Too big particles result in inferior strength. Smaller particles, at the same concentration, deliver higher strength colourations. The particle size in VIBRACOLOR® dispersions is optimized to provide maximum strength in application, with each individual pigment.
