History - BTC within the BASF Group

BTC is a new subsidiary of the BASF group, the world's leading chemical company.
After a short presentation of BASF’s history, we will come back to BTC (formerly BASCOM France).

BTC’s history

After BASF´s deinvestion in the distribution of plastics in October 2002, BASF Trading Centre Española S.L. was established. The new company was supposed to distribute BASF´s Specialty Chemical products as well as complimentary products from third parties. In October 2003 the company was renamed to BTC Speciality Chemical Distribution S.L. Nowadays, together with eight other BTCs, all 100% owned by BASF Group, BTC Speciality Chemical Distribution S.L. makes up a Europe-wide distribution network. In this connection the initials 'BTC' reflect the names of former companies such as BASF Tensid Chemie or BASF Trading Centre which by now have bundled their activities and strenghts under the name of BTC.
