Recovering metals from a solution or liquid state via the use of electrochemical processes is called electrowinning. BTC offers customers several products for electrowinning metals such as copper, precious metals, aluminium, lead, cobalt and rare earth metals.
Guarfloc® (Smoothing agents), Guartec® (Smoothing agents)
BTC’s Guarfloc® and Guartec® types are guar-based products.

Alcotac® (organic binders)
Alcotac® FE polymers are organic binders which work as substitute for bentonite binders. They are very fine free-flowing powders, which can be added in advance of the balling disk/drum. The Alcotac® FE polymers burn off during induration which leads to a more saleable and porous pellet without additional silicone as an end product.
Alcotac® CB products offer superior lubrication, moulding and binding properties, making them the best choice in fields like coal-fines briquetting and carbon and graphite extrusion.
The Alcotac® CB types are available as solid and as liquid binders.
Alcotac® FE types find use in iron ore briquetting, granulation, extrusion and pelletisations. Alcotac® FE types revolutionise iron ore pelletisation. As a result the fired pellets have an improved reducibility, a more uniform size and increased porosity.

Alcotac® (Organic binder as dust controller), Drimax® (moisture reducer), EnviroWet® (dust controller)
The encrusting agent and chemical binder Alcotac® DS1 has been specially formulated to provide an adherent film to the surface of a variety of minerals. It is effective on a number of fine mineral substrates including coal, limestone and iron ore.
Alcotac® DS1 films are water resistant. 'Channelling' and 'slumping' on a stockpile are avoided in case of rainfall.
Alcotac® DS1 is used to prevent the creation of air-borne dust, besides others, from the surface of stockpiles, open freight cars and trucks. It also reduces the chances of ‘hot spots’ and therefore spontaneous combustions in stockpiles.
Drimax® 1235 is used to reduce the surface tension of water, significantly improving its ability to form droplets and wet surfaces.
