Omega-6 fatty acids - oily grades > for fattening pigs

Omega-6 fatty acids influence the fat metabolism in mono-gastric animals. In fattening pigs, the main effects described in the scientific literature are an increase in lean meat percentage of the carcass and a relative increase of the percentage of intra-muscular fat in the muscles. It is well known that an increasing percentage of intra-muscular fat positively influences the taste of meat.




Lutalin® is an oily formulation of omega-6 fatty acid methyl ester. It contains at least 28% omega-6 fatty acids (CLA).


Lutalin® is used for fattening pigs with 0.5% Lutalin® in the diet over the last 4 weeks of the fattening period.
