It is not just the gigaliners, i.e. trucks with a length of over 25 meters, that demonstrate how the transport and logistics sector is currently targeting efficiency through size. The long trucks are the strongest sign of a general development towards ever heavier trucks and buses. It goes without saying that this puts additional strain on axles and transmissions. “Transmission oils are becoming ever more important for the reliability of vehicles,” says Gabriele Möller, Head of Business Management, Fuel & Lubricant Solutions at BTC Europe GmbH. “The proper oil is decisive in ensuring that a transmission really does work as intended.” With Emgard® MTF 4200, BTC’s portfolio includes a synthetic transmission oil for manual transmissions that was created specifically for heavy-duty commercial vehicles.
The decisive advantage of Emgard® MTF 4200 is that it guarantees particularly long drain intervals. The high oil oxidation stability increases the service life. Even over extended periods of use, the synchronisation properties and the friction coefficient remain at an extremely high level. And because the transmission oil only causes very low friction losses, the operating temperatures are significantly reduced. All in all, Emgard® MTF 4200 stands out thanks to its sustainable and gentle properties and the resulting protection against wear. “The selected raw materials and additives are highly compatible with sealing materials, for example,” explains Möller. This ensures optimal interaction in the transmission.
In addition, Emgard® MTF 4200 ensures maximum fuel economy, as inner friction is reduced to a minimum. Since the transmission oil is characterised by stable viscosity at both high and low temperatures, highest shifting comfort is guaranteed at all times. In short, Emgard® MTF 4200 optimally protects manual transmissions, even in adverse conditions. It intelligently combines protection against wear with high fuel saving potential.
Gabriele Möller has been working in the chemicals industry for more than 35 years, during which time she has gathered experience in every central field, from purchasing to HR and sales. Personal experience makes her familiar with customers' needs and points of view: before joining BTC, Möller spent many years working for a retailer who was a BASF customer. Möller has officially been in the Fuel & Lubricant Solutions division for ten years, but it has actually been much longer. “I have always been very mobile,” she says. She was one of the first young women of her generation to ride a motorcycle. Möller enjoys managing products that are easy for laypeople to understand, from coolants to brake fluids. At BTC, she is responsible for the entire strategic segment involving Fuel & Lubricant Solutions.
