For the production of high-performance polyurethane (PUR) materials, raw materials such as isocyanates and polyols offer consistent and reliable product quality thanks to state-of-the-art technology. BASF has a globally unique portfolio of chemical intermediates for the production of versatile polyurethane materials, which are characterized above all by their performance, durability and versatility. While rigid and semi-rigid polyurethane foams are used especially for insulation and dashboards, flexible foam is used for upholstering car seats, furniture and mattresses. BASF's polyurethane raw materials can also be found in energy-absorbing materials in the automotive industry, in products for the adhesives as well as insulation industries.

Aromatic isocyanates for foam applications:

Two essential isocyanates for the foam industry include methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) and toluene diisocyanate (TDI). Both are important raw materials for the production of polyurethane, polyisocyanurate, polyamide imide for a wide range of applications, from foams and insulation foams to thermoplastics. We offer a range of different high-quality isocyanates:

The Lupranol® polyols product range offers a wide range of polyether polyols for all polyurethane applications. The Lupraphen® polyols product family offers polyester polyols primarily for CASE and footwear applications. These polyols are optimized for the mechanical properties and hydrolysis resistance of the final product.

Oliver Kowald joined BTC on 01.01.2019 as Account Manager Dispersions for Adhesives & Construction. He is responsible for the sales of products for the construction industry, asphalt as well as adhesives for various applications. He has been working in the chemical industry since 2004 and more than 10 years at BASF. He gained experience in the production of basic raw materials as well as in the application technology of 2K polyurethanes. As a sales representative he is usually on the road a lot and sees a lot of the world, so pure beach vacations are not his cup of tea.
