We offer you automotive chemicals which are the result of development work carried out by BASF in close cooperation with the automotive and oil industries, including, for example, engine coolants, brake fluids and additives for petrol and diesel fuels which are precisely formulated to automotive requirements.
Speciality chemicals for protection of brakes, engines and cooling systems BTC Europe is recognised as a reliable supplier to the automobile industry with BASF"s long history of developing products that are designed to fulfil the highest standards of quality.
We offer BASF products for use in cooling systems of motor vehicles to protect them from corrosion, freezing and overheating. Other BASF products are used in brake fluids to ensure that the brakes function effectively and reliably.
BASF is a leading component supplier to the global lubricant industry. With a backward integration into key raw materials, a globally registered product portfolio supported by leading application and formulation know-how as well as R&D power, it is our mission to enable our customers to reach their most ambititous targets. Together, and in close collaboration with our customers and industry partners, we are committed to develop intelligent solutions that meet and exceed the requirements of future mobility concepts.
Glysantin® types are engine coolant concentrates based on ethylene glycol for water cooled engines. Available are products of all inhibitor technologies.
The Glysantin® brand is now one of the world's most frequently-used products for initial filling. The ethylene glycol coolant concentrate is continuously adapted to the latest requirements of the leading car manufacturers, to protect the engine of any car against corrosion, overheating and frost.

The question of proper cooling already arose during the mid-twenties. BASF Chemist Dr. Otto Jordan was tasked with developing an antifreeze that would protect the already quite complex cooling systems in use. The original patent for GLYSANTIN®, the world’s very first antifreeze, was granted in 1929 and marks the birthdate of the brand. During the following decades GLYSANTIN® has successfully enabled and accompanied advancement in engine and coolant technologies and is committed to continue shaping the future.
The brake system is one of the most important safety features of a vehicle and therefore needs to meet the very high standards required by the automotive manufacturers, the automotive industry and automotive safety legislation. Therefore brake fluids must meet stringent specifications and are often also officially approved by the automobile manufacturers.
Our finished lubricants ensure first-class results in terms of gear wear, seal life, fluid oxidation and oil life. The synthetic lubricants also provide sustainability benefits, for example, by helping to improve energy efficiency which reduces fuel consumption and decreases CO2 emissions. Renewable content and high biodegradability make a range of BASF’s finished lubricants exceptionally environmentally acceptable.
KEROPUR® multifunctional fuel performance packages help keep engines clean and protect the entire fuel system. The portfolio includes gasoline and diesel performance packages for maximum engine cleanliness, better fuel economy, lower emissions and optimal driving experience.
BASF's long-standing expertise and individual high-performance gasoline and diesel additives provide differentiation and enable the development of efficient fuels to exceed legal market requirements.
Our aviation fuel additives help reduce the costs of aviation maintenance, reduce coking issues and sustain the efficient operation of high-performance gas turbines. Beyond that, our additives improve health and safety for maintenance crews by avoiding the use of less suitable additive solutions and regular draining procedures to prevent ice formation and bacteria developing in the fuel system.
Increasing worldwide demand for diesel, more stringent environmental legislation for transportation fuels and changing fossil energy resources: Refiners are facing a lot of challenges - Our Refinery Additives offer a wide range of solutions, covering flow improvement, property enhancement and stabilization.
As a leading solution provider for fuels and lubricants, we are leveraging our chemical know-how and industry expertise to service our customers in the marine industry, delivering the exact solutions needed to face their challenges ahead.
