The right lubricant plays a key role in optimizing the efficiency of industrial plants and extending maintenance intervals, as it allows moving parts to run smoothly without wear. Adding high-performance additives to a lubricant is often the only way to achieve this effect. BTC customers can rely on ideal custom additive mixtures for a variety of purposes. “Our broad range of additive packages fulfils or even exceeds the important international industrial and OEM specifications,” says Gabriele Möller, Head of Business Management Europe at BTC for Fuel & Lubricant Solutions. “The mixtures can be used with the basestock. BTC provides support with testing.”
One considerable advantage of all additive mixtures is that they are free from ash. “That lowers the risk of deposits, which are a main cause of mechanical wear,” says Möller. For example, the additive packages Irgalube® 2030 A and Irgalube® 2030 C both contain powerful antioxidants, corrosion inhibitors and metal deactivators for the formulation of lubricants for gas and steam turbines or circulating oils which are effective in the long term.
Irgalube® 8080, on the other hand, is a good choice for lubricants for hydraulic plants. With high-quality basestocks of Groups II and III, a very low concentration of 0.4 per cent is already sufficient to provide strong protection against wear. Irgalube® 8080 also noticeably improves the performance of a lubricant in Group I basestocks. The additive mixture Irgalube® 605 A, on the other hand, allows for smooth operation of both hydraulic plants and industrial transmissions. Soluble and thus simple to use, the product protects metal surfaces, prevents oxidation processes and remains effective even at high temperatures. An additional benefit is provided by the demulgators and defoamers contained in Irgalube® 605 A.
Gabriele Möller has been working in the chemicals industry for more than 35 years, during which time she has gathered experience in every central field, from purchasing to HR and sales. Personal experience makes her familiar with customers' needs and points of view: before joining BTC, Möller spent many years working for a retailer who was a BASF customer. Möller has officially been in the Fuel & Lubricant Solutions division for ten years, but it has actually been much longer. “I have always been very mobile,” she says. She was one of the first young women of her generation to ride a motorcycle. Möller enjoys managing products that are easy for laypeople to understand, from coolants to brake fluids. At BTC, she is responsible for the entire strategic segment involving Fuel & Lubricant Solutions.
